Donating to ARF

Today we had the pleasure of making a donation to ARF.  Kristine, our Contra Costa manager, met with ARF's Development Director Stephanie Chew and toured their facility in Walnut Creek.  What an amazing organization!  Every week they make "rescue runs" and take in approximately 50-80 dogs and cats.  The animals they take in are then treated for any medical needs and then placed up for adoption as soon as they are fit.  In addition to housing dogs and cats in their facility they also have an extensive network of foster homes for the many animals they rescue.  Every week they help 50-75 animals find their forever homes.

ARF also offers many other programs for training and child education around caring for and handling animals properly.  One of the amazing programs is for military veterans where the veteran adopts a dog and then over the course of 10 months they train that dog themselves (with ARF's classes and support) to become their own service dog.  Kristine thought that was especially amazing because with this program a homeless dog not only gets placed in a loving home but they are given a beautiful purpose in life.

In the picture Kristine and Stephanie are standing in front of ARF's "brag board" where they list many of their accomplishments.  We are truly greatful for an organization that is doing so much to help the homeless pet community.

A special thanks to all of you for helping us make an impact in the lives of homeless pets.  We couldn't do this special work without you.
