As you know, we have been busy walking your sweet pups and taking in the beautiful fall colors alongside them. What a treat to spend our days outside with happy and affectionate dogs!
We have some wonderful news to share with you…in late October we had our drawing for the “Monthly Treat” and the lucky winning charity was Dusty Paws Rescue in Castro Valley. Robin presented the donation yesterday.
Dusty Paws is a small, 501c3 non-profit dog rescue that saves all breeds of dogs and places them in loving forever homes. They frequently take medical cases and dogs with special needs into their program. Their director, Diane, was very appreciative of our donation and was thrilled that their previous adopters had named them as their “Charity of Choice”.
Dusty Paws quickly put our “Monthly Treat” to work and was able to apply the donation to medical bills for two dogs needing expensive treatments. Both dogs are currently receiving treatment for pneumonia. Most dogs with pneumonia are expected to make a full recovery but their acute medical needs often deter rescues and adopters from saving them from the shelter.
Thankfully, Dusty Paws stepped up to save the lives of these two pups.
